Deena Lopez was born and raised in Edinburg, Texas. Her parents are Ramiro and Gloria Caceres, and she has one brother, Juan Carlos Caceres who resides in Portland, Oregon. She is married to Esteban Lopez, and together they have three children: Noah, Madison, and Mason. Mrs. Lopez is a responsible, compassionate, and dedicated individual. She has been teaching for 18 years, all at Canterbury Elementary School in Edinburg, TX. She has taught grades 1, 2, and 3 respectively. After 4 years of teaching, Mrs. Lopez pursued her master’s degree in Educational Administration. She graduated in 2009 with her master’s degree from Lamar University and became certified to become a principal. Shortly after obtaining her master’s degree, Deena had her first child, Noah, then twins Madison and Mason followed almost three years later. She has served numerous roles at Canterbury in addition to her teaching assignments. Deena Lopez has been yearbook editor, a UIL Mathematics and Number Sense Sponsor, Destination Imagination Coach, Green Club Sponsor, Grade Level Chair, and After School Program/UIL Coordinator. In addition, Mrs. Lopez has also served for many years as a Pre-school Sunday School Teacher at BT Church in McAllen, Texas.
